Wow.. Well.. I.. Wow
I found this book through a fluke. You all know the story: A friend here on GR liked an update of someone who was reading this book, I liked the snippet(s) given on that update(s) and afterwards I liked the premise so picked it up, immediately I might add, instead on putting it in my never-ending tbr list, cause my brain glitches, a lot.
And I read it..
And I freaking liked it!
The Awesome is that kind of book; you know the weird one that is not for everyone. At first I couldn’t believe what I was reading but being extremely weird, not to mention insane, I got to like it more and more. It made me laugh, go WTF and at occasions cringe.
Yes I know I am confusing you. Basically this book takes every cliché it could get its greedy little hands on, turns it upside down and inside out, dips it head first in irony, then sarcasm and serves it up with a good dose of WTF, with a pinch of foul mouthness, shenanigans and sex. Accompanied with a quirky/WTF mix smoothie.
You can’t put in positives and negatives with this kind of book but if there is one thing that got to me a bit was that there are questions I need answers to. About Maggie, Jeff, Lauren, Janice, Ian. Basically everyone and everything. What happened to them? What was up with Jeff and all his secrets? Lauren, did she go nuclear or did she adjust? What happened to Janice? And Maggie & Ian? I need a sequel. This questions need to be answered.
Despite all that I liked it. Don’t ask why or how, I simply don’t know. It just is this way.
As I said this book is not for everyone but I would recommend it, maybe as a test of one’s limits.
If a sequel is ever written (it needs to be, seriously!) I have this to say:
